Promising 17-year-old three-quarter Richard Lopag has been handed a full time contract with the Huddersfield Giants after progressing through the club’s scholarship.
The former Deighton Junior has signed after impressing in the Giants Academy and making his Yorkshire debut this season.
Head Coach Jon Sharp said:
“Richard is an exciting young talent who has made good progress since he joined us, he is proven try scorer and has deserved this opportunity to continue his development in a full-time environment.”
Lopag was delighted to sign the deal:
“Since the age of four it’s been my dream to become a professional rugby league player, and now that dream will become a reality. But I’m under no illusions as to how tough things are now going to become. I know the hard work starts now.
