GIANTS MAKE IT A HAPPY EASTER

Tries from Brad Drew, Eorl Crabtree and Martin Aspinwall along with 7 goals from Chris Thorman gave the Giants a 26-18 victory over Warrington at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. The Giants making it two wins out of two over the Easter period.

REPORT
Huddersfield Giants continued their recent revival as they recorded a third straight win with a 26-18 victory over Warrington.

A 74-4 victory in the Challenge Cup over National League Two outfit York City Knights has provided them the platform from which to build on.

Wakefield were first to be brushed aside by the rejuvenated Giants, with the Wolves tamed on Monday.

Brad Drew, Eorl Crabtree and Martin Aspinwall all crossed for Huddersfield, but it was Chris Thorman's seven shots at goals that proved the difference.

Henry Fa'afili (2) and Martin Gleeson scored tries for Warrington, however Lee Briers was on target with just three kicks at goal.

Having stormed into an 8-0 lead after just 10 minutes, Huddersfield never looked like letting their lead slip.

Thorman opened the scoring with a penalty before converting after Drew had dummied his way through the Wolves defence.

The hosts responded when Paul Rauhihi and Briers combined to set Fa'afili up.

Briers converted and although he found his range with a penalty during the first half, his side entered the break 22-8 down.

Crabtree stormed over from 20m, before Aspinwall crossed following good work by Drew and Stephen Wild. And with Thorman adding six points from the boot, Huddersfield were in complete control.

However, when Gleeson crossed after the restart and Briers converted, the Giants must have feared the worst.

A Thorman penalty eased the nerves, however, the Wolves continued to claw their way back into the match when Fa'afili scored his second from a Briers kick.

But with the ice-cool Thorman giving them an eight-point advantage with his seventh success from the boot, the Giants held up.
